Volunteer

The Museum operates entirely by volunteers. The Management Team is appointed for three years by Council and is required to serve at least one day a month while the Museum is open to the public at the weekend.

Volunteering is an opportunity to be involved in the work in the museum both in the public roles and behind the scene. Volunteers’ duties can cover visitor services at the weekends, during the week if required for tour groups. Other tasks are indexing and data management, maintenance in the museum or the  Research Centre, occasional help with graphic design and setting up exhibits as required.

If you are interested please call in to the Museum to discuss volunteering.
