Our Communities, People and Places

Our Community, People and places

It is intended to feature the different towns and people of the Shire of Creswick. The Shire stretched from Eganstown to Cabbage Tree. The present display features Allendale now a small rural town. In the 19th and early 20th century it was a mining town with the development of the deep leads in the area, the Berry Leads and Spring Hill in the 1880s  .  Selkirk brickworks started in this area before moving to Ballarat. Ristori Town was nearby.
